Short Biography Since joining Keio University, Mr. Umejima has addressed research about infrastructure design such as energy and mobile communication in highlighing IoT innovation and pursued entrepreneurial education in allying with SOI Asia [http://www.soi.asia/] and EBA [http://www.eba-consortium.asia/].
Mr. Umejima is the councilor of ECHONET Consortium in charge of international strategy. Since his inauguration, ECHONET Lite, which brings network access to every home appliance, included a power meter, air conditioner, and EV, has grown open standard that is recognized as ISO/IEC 14543-4-3.
In 2011, Umejima was assigned to Deputy Chairman of Smart House and Building Committee, Japan Smart Community Alliance (JSCA) that intended to make a recovery of big energy lose due to Fukushima Nuclear Accident. In JSCA, Mr. Umejima has consulted with the technical specification for the nationwide power meter installation in Japan.
Mr. Umejima was awarded to IPv6 world leader 2015 by IPv6 Forum and Echonet Prize 2017 by EHONET Consortium
